More to come!
Congratulations to Mike Burrell for ThorBrake XT4's first VICTORY from 8th starting place in the
Great Lakes Sprint Series Yamaha Masters class on April 18, 2009!!! Also Congratulations to Chris McCarthy for his 5th place finish in England competing in Jr. Rotax! Hi Robert, We had a dry day running on slicks amb air temp 13C (55F). Chris McCarthy was the driver, aged 15 in the Junior Rotax 148Kg (325Lb) class. Q11 for the first heat finished P9. Q5 for the second heat finished P2. Q23 for the third heat finished P10. 26 karts on the grid he which Chris qualified P5. This is approx 7 places higher than current form would indicate. Chris said his grid slot is down to the brake and the confidence that he has with it. His team mate runs with in 100's of a second from circuit to circuit of chris and has done for the last 18 months. Chris was 4-5 th's of a second quicker all weekend. Again this is down solely to the brake. He also constantly picked up 500-600 rpm over the normal brake. He started 5th in the 14 lap final got to 4th them slipped back to 5th and followed the 4th placed kart over the line almost touching. Chris got his first trophy in his Junior Rotax class. Best wishes, Steve We have tested it and NOW it is time to RACE it!! Daytona WKA Winter Tour3rd and 5th Place Yamaha Masters Necessity as always is the mother of invention and when Elevation Engineering founder and President, Robert Sollenskog, got fed up with hammering his sons brake rotor straight, he stepped back and asked himself why he was wasting his time doing this. A smaller rotor was the obvious answer as it would not hit the ground during an off track moment, but how would you gain back the pad contact area? Of course!! Pad material all the way around the axle instead of in one area. And so the sparks flew with the invention of Thor Brake™. Almost three years later and many, many miles of testing and hours of calculations, ThorBrake™ is coming to market. |
